Top plays for Saturday
1. Minnesota -15 - The only reason anyone would pick Illinois in this one is that it is Homecoming. Illinois playing 3rd string quarterback, 2nd string running back. They are horrible against the run going up against the best running team and top offensive line in Big 10 who just happens to be coming off of 2 straight losses. Illinois is in for a long day.
2. Vanderbilt +16.5 - This Vandy team has been game all year but yet to pull off their first SEC win. South Carolina is physically beat up after last week's game with LSU. Vandy will keep it within a touchdown or less and definitely are a live dog.
3. Indiana +20.5 - Buckeyes have had way too much trouble scoring to cover this large of a number. Indiana has played Michigan and Washington tough on road and won't be phased in this one. Look for Indiana to give Buckeyes a good run for their money.
4. Oklahoma -25 - This Colorado team would give 50 points up to a high school team. Throw in Sooner defense and you have all of the ingredients of a BIG BLOWOUT for the Sooners.
5. Wake Forest +18.5 - FSU has struggled against good running teams and you throw in the funky Deacon Demon offense and you have the makings of a live dog. Wake won't be intimidated in this one and are capable of pulling upset as FSU feeling good about winning ACC after victory over Virginia and Maryland loss to G.Tech. Wake will easily cover against half hearted Seminole team.
6.Louisville -17 - East Carolina will be overmatched against the Cardinals in this one. Look for Cardinals to cover by at least 10 points.
7.Purdue +5 - I like Boiler defense to stop Michigan offense and keep it close it probable battle for Rose Bowl bid. This Boilermaker team is for real and will give Wolverines all they can handle. Difference in this game will be Purdue special teams with big edge in kicking and return game. Purdue wins outright by 3.
8.Clemson -13 - Clemson has way too much on both sides of the ball for Tar Heels. Quietly, Tommy Bowden has had a nice year bringing along Tigers after blowout against Georgia in first game. Tigers roll in this one.
9. Kansas +20 --Yes, I know K State owns Jayhawks but this is a different KU and a differnt K State. Wildcats will still probably win but it will be a lot closer than prior years as K State defense will struggle to stop excellent KU offense.
10. Notre Dame +4 - This BC team is overrated. ND beat better Pitt team on road two weeks ago and should be favored in this one even after poor performance against USC. BC has struggled against strong running teams see Wake Forest and I expect them to get full dose of Julius Jones. Irish will by 7 or more on road to keep alive bowl hopes.
